Giuseppe Fenza

He received his degree and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Salerno, Italy, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. His research focuses on computational intelligence methods for semantic-enabled solutions and decision-making. He has authored over 60 publications on information disorder, cognitive security, fuzzy decision-making, knowledge extraction and management, situation and context awareness, semantic information retrieval, and ontology learning. He serves as Associate Editor in Chief of the international journal Neurocomputing and a guest editor for several journals. Recently, he has worked on automating open-source intelligence and big data analytics to combat counterfeit extremism and information disorder, and has been investigating eXplainable AI and AI model vulnerabilities. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Technical Scientific Committee of the SERICS project (Security and Rights in Cyberspace, PE000014) and participates in Spoke 2 “Misinformation and Fakes”. He is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Salerno.
